OUR STORY BEGAN IN 1839,

when Miguel Anzar and Manuel Larios sold their Mexican Land Grant to the Spanish DeLaveaga family. The DeLaveaga family built the charming Spanish-style home that remains on the property today.

In 1931, their great-granddaughter

Juanita Somavia expanded it into a self-sufficient haven with gardens, livestock, and an indoor swimming pool.

1938

In 1938, the Somavia family

constructed the main house and dwellings and continued to enhance its allure with additional installations and ranch houses through the early 1970s.

1970s

In the 1970s, the Irwin family purchased the property, preserving the natural beauty and continuing cattle operations.

For over twenty years, they've hosted business groups in cozy lodges and cabins. The original home and guest houses have been beautifully refurbished, blending historic charm with modern comforts. Event planners will appreciate our unique Space Museum and the exceptional hospitality.
